Michael Emmit Collier, MD. was born in Trenton, New Jersey. A graduate of Ohio State University, completed his medical training at the University of Maryland School of Medicine then served both his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at South Baltimore General Hospital, an affiliate of both the University of Maryland and then John Hopkins University, where he was recognized with the prestigious "Most Distinguished Intern Award" in 1986. He is a member of the American Society of Internal Medicine. He is member of the American Society of Internal Medicine and the American College of Occupational Medicine. In late 1990 Drs. Collier and DePree initiated the idea of a Medical Review office and hired Steven Ravitz to implement those plans. Dr. Collier has overseen the growth of Coastal Health Management Services, Inc. as the President and CEO. He was certified in Medical Review by the Medical Review Officer Certification Council (MROCC) in 1993 (one of the first Medical Review Officers certified by that agency).
